Don’t be Scarub the Noise

Eligh of the Living Legends spittin’ a few words out to his fans.

Eligh & Scarub

A clip from one of their performances at The Loft.

Thanks to my fabulous and well connected cousin, Hecktik, I got a chance to check out Eligh and Scarub of the Living Legends at San Francisco’s Rockit Room this past Friday.  I tried to get an impromptu interview with Scarub, but since he missed his flight and had an already busy schedule planned, we decided to reschedule the interview for when we are both back in LA.  Turns out we live minutes from one another, which means an upcoming video interview with a legend will hit NK.com very soon!  A super shout out and thanks goes out to him again for getting the bff, Carissa Estreller, and I on the guestlist for an epic night of Hip Hop.  I may not look or act like Im down with ODB, but I grew up listening to and loving straight up Hip Hop (no mainstream bull over here).  If youre down to catch a killer show with true Hip Hop artists, check out Living Legends’ myspace page for upcoming tour dates.  Until next time…

HIP HOP DONT STOP.

And SoSoSoon Enough, Here it is.

Along with their music, their brand identity is pretty dope, too. (via Twitter)

The much anticipated SoSoSoon has finally dropped their first track of many “infinite mixes” that are in store for fans in the so so soon future.   Joaquin ‘Tommy” Bartra and Ian Aronson are two early twenty-something-year-olds who have taken San Francisco’s disc jockeying scene by storm since their first commencement four years ago.  Finding a commonality via music, tech, and life as college students, they have successfully branded themselves as the up-and-comers of generation Y.  Dropping their first single, No.1, as the clock strikes 11:11am on Monday, March 1st, 2010, was no coincidence at all.  These social media mavens, amongst all other things, planned their debut like a Jay-Z entrance at the MTV awards, nothing short of extraordinary.  Taking the web by storm, SoSoSoon, could possibly have the most “#MusicMonday“ suggestions on Twitter altogether.  We all have high hopes for this talented duo as they must now live up to the reputation we have painted for them.

Their first live performance , after the dropping of this single, is set for March 16th of this year at SXSW in Austin, Texas.  Performances by Holy Ghost and Classixx are also scheduled for the night.

For more by the minute info on SoSoSoon, follow the DJ’s on Twitter and become fans of their Facebook page.
